Spiderman: Across the Spiderverse Shatters Expectations (Again!)

I just fell in love with the animation industry all over again.

When Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse released in 2018, it changed the animation industry. For me, it had an even more influential impact. The film was genre-defining, innovative, and gorgeously designed. If you were to ask me about the most influential film in my life, the first struck domino down a long-winded chain that led to a greater appreciation of film, there would be no question about what it was.

Then, I saw this film.

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse doesn’t just sit comfortably in its unique style and formula, as per the norm of modern sequels to successful films franchises. Instead, it amends it. It experiments with it. It takes creative risks and liberties to tell its story in its inimitable manner. Make way for the visionaries, the artists, the sentimentalists to tell the story that they want to tell.

And these expert artisans meticulously wield their enormous talents with masterful strokes, each one energized with its own purposeful, creative power.
